The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Aghanunshin contained the following places:

"AGHANUNSHIN, (or AUGHANUNCHON), a parish in the barony of Kilmacrenan, in the county of Donegal, province of Ulster, Ireland, 2 miles to the N.E. of Letterkenny. It lies at the upper end of Lough Swilly. The soil is fertile. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Derry and Raphoe, value £362, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is old and dilapidated.
