In 1868, the parish of Ballytrustan contained the following places:

"BALLYTRUSTAN, a parish in the barony of Ards, in the county of Down, province of Ulster, Ireland, 1 mile from Portaferry. It lies in a fertile district on the sea-coast. The living is a vicarage, part of the union of Ballyphilip. There are ruins of the old church."
