The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Booterstown contained the following places:

"BOOTERSTOWN, a parish in the baronies of Dublin and Rathdown, in the county of Dublin, province of Leinster, Ireland, 4 miles to the S.E. of Dublin. It is a station on the Dublin and Kingstown railway. The parish is pleasantly situated on the coast of Dublin Bay, and contains the villages of Booterstown, Williamstown, and part of Blackrock, watering-places on the bay. Limestone is found here. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Dublin, value £148, in the patronage of the Archdeacon of Dublin. The church, built in 1824, is in the perpendicular style, with a good tower and spire. There is a large Roman Catholic chapel, a dispensary, and several schools. In the vicinity are many seats of the gentry, among which may be mentioned St. Helen's, the residence of Field Marshal Viscount Gough, Sans Souci, Willow Park, and Mount Merrion."
