The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Cloghran Hidart contained the following places:

"CLOGHRAN-HIDART, (or Ballycoolane), a parish in the barony of Castleknock, county of Dublin, province of Leinster, Ireland, 5 miles N.W. of Dublin. It is regarded ecclesiastically as a separate parish, but contains only 778 acres and about 100 inhabitants."

"CLOGHRAN-SWORDS, a parish and post town in the barony of Coolock, in the county of Dublin, province of Leinster, Ireland, 5 miles to the N. of Dublin. It is situated on the road from Swords to that city. The soil is good, on a limestone bottom. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Dublin, Glendalagh, and Kildare, value £176, in the patronage of the crown. The church was built in the beginning of the 18th century. Here once existed a rath, near the site of which stands Castle Moat."
