In 1868, the parish of Old Connaught contained the following places:

"OLD CONNAUGHT, a parish, and the seat of Lord Plunket, in the county of Dublin, Ireland."

"SHANKILL, a hamlet in the parish of Old Connaught, county Dublin, Ireland, 2½ miles from Bray. It is a station on the Dublin, Wicklow, and Wexford railway. The hill of Shankill rises about 900 feet above sea-level, near the borders of Wicklow."
