The village is situated on the small river Ward, which flows in an eastward direction to the Broadmeadow at Swords. Stone is quarried. There is a police station, at which petty sessions are held. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Dublin, united with Finglass. The church has long since fallen to decay."
