CARGIN

In 1868, the parish of Cargin contained the following places:

"CARGIN, (or Cargan), a parish in the barony of Clare, in the county of Galway, province of Connaught, Ireland, 1 mile from Headford. It is situated in a boggy district, on the E. side of Lough Corrib. The living is a vicarage forming part of the union of Headford, in the diocese of Tuam, Killala and Achonry.
