In 1868, the parish of Drumacoo contained the following places:

"DRUMACOO, a parish, including several islands, in the barony of Dunkellin, in the county of Galway, province of Connaught, Ireland, 5 miles S. of Oranmore. Kilcolgan is its post town. It is situated on Galway Bay. The surface is rocky, with a light soil. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Kilmacduagh, value with Kilcolgan, £275, in the patronage of the bishop. There is a Roman Catholic chapel and four day schools. Tyrone House is the seat of the family of St. George.
