In 1868, the parish of Isertkelly contained the following places:

"ISERTKELLY, (or Dysertkelly), a parish in the barony of Loughrea, county Galway, province of Connaught, Ireland, 6 miles S.W. of Loughrea, its post town. It is situated on the river Gurtamackin, and is separated into two detached sections. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Kilmacduagh, value with Killinane, £452, in the patronage of the Marquis of Clanricarde and the bishop alternately. In the demesne of Castleboy stand the ruins of a castle. The other mansions are Cranagh and Woodville.
