In 1868, the parish of Kilconla contained the following places:

"KILCONLA, a parish in the barony of Dunmore, county Galway, province of Connaught, Ireland, 5 miles N.W. of Tuam, its post town. It is 4 miles long and over 3 broad. The surface is flat and boggy, and is traversed by the road from Dublin to Westport. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Team, value with Tuam, £622, in the patronage of the bishop. The church was erected in 1831 by the late Board of First Fruits. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to that of Kilbannon. There are two day schools."
