In 1868, the parish of Killeenadeema contained the following places:

"KILLEENADEEMA, a parish in the barony of Loughrea, county Galway, province of Connaught, Ireland, 2 miles S.W. of Loughrea, its post town. The parish, which is over 8 miles long, and near 4 broad, contains part of Loughrea. The surface is mountainous in the S., containing part of the Slievebaughta range. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Clonfert, value with Loughrea, £444. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to that of Kilteskill. There are six day schools. Abbeyville is the chief seat."
