In 1868, the parish of Killora contained the following places:

"KILLORA, a parish in the barony of Dunkellin, county Galway, province of Connaught, Ireland, containing the village of Craughwell. Loughrea is its post town. It is 4 miles long by 3 broad. The surface generally consists of good land. It is drained by the Carnamart rivulet, and is traversed by the road from Dublin to Galway. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Kilmacduagh, value with Killinane, £452, in the patronage of the Marquis of Clanricarde and the bishop alternately. There are a Roman Catholic chapel and two day schools. Ballymore is the chief seat."

"CRAUGWELL, a postal village in the parish of Killora, barony of Dunkellin, in the county of Galway, province of Connaught, Ireland, 6 miles S.W. of Loughrea, on the road from Dublin to Galway. The Roman Catholic parish of Craughwell is in the diocese of Kilmacduagh and Kilfenora. Ballymore is the neighbouring seat."
