In 1868, the parish of Tiranascragh contained the following places:

"TIRANASCRAGH, a parish in the barony of Longford, county Galway, province of Connaught, Ireland, 3 miles S.S.W. of Eyrecourt. The surface consists of good land, with a small portion of bog. The parish is traversed by the river Shannon. The living is a rectory joined to Dononaughta. The principal residence is Ormond-view.
