In 1868, the parish of Finuge contained the following places:

"FINUGE, a parish in the barony of Clanmaurice, county Kerry, province of Munster, Ireland, 1 mile S.W. of Listowel, its post town. It is situated on the left bank of the river Feale. The surface consists principally of bog and waste land. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Ardfert and Aghadoe, value with Listowel, £335. Here is an old burial-ground. The principal residence is Ballinruddery, the seat of the Knight of Kerry. Adjoining are the ruins of Ballinruddery Castle."
