The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Ardkill contained the following places:"ARDKILL, a parish in the barony of Carbery, in the county of Kildare, province of Leinster, Ireland, 7 miles to the N.W. of Robertstown. It lies close to the western extremity of the bog of Allen. The living is a vicarage forming part of the union of Castle Carbery, in the diocese of Dublin, Glendalagh, and Kildare."
