The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Balraheen contained the following places:

"BALRAHEEN, a parish in the barony of Ikeathy and Oughterany, in the county of Kildare, province of Leinster, Ireland, 4 miles to the S. W. of Maynooth. It is watered by the small river Rye, a branch of the Liffey. The living is a rectory included in the union of Donadea, in the diocese of Dublin, Glendalagh, and Kildare.
