The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Carragh contained the following places:

"CARRAGH, (or Caragh), a parish in the barony of Clane, in the county of Kildare, province of Leinster, Ireland, 4 miles to the N-W. of Naas. It lies in a fertile and cultivated country on the banks of the river Liffey. The Grand canal passes near it. There are extensive flour-mills at Yeomanstown. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Dublin, Glendalagh, and Kildare, value with two other benefices, £149, in the patronage of the archbishop. There is no church. Donore and Yeomanstown are among the chief residences in the vicinity.
