In 1868, the parish of Carrick contained the following places:

"CARRICK, a parish in the barony of Carbury, in the county of Kildare; province of Leinster, Ireland, 11 miles to the N. of Rathangan. It is situated in a fertile country on the banks of the river Boyne, and was the site of a fortress called Carrig Castle, an old seat of the Bermynghams, of which there are some ruins. The parish contains a tract of bog, and quarries of limestone. The living is a vicarage forming part of the union of Carbury, or Castle-Carbury, in the diocese of Dublin, Glendalagh, and Kildare. Among the residences of the gentry are Rahan and Ballindolan."
