The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Feighcullen contained the following places:

"FEIGHCULLEN, a parish in the baronies of Connell and East Offaly, county Kildare, province of Leinster, Ireland, 4 miles N. of Kildare. Rathangan is its post town. It is situated on the Grand canal, and consists of a flat boggy surface. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Nildare, value £158, in the patronage of the crown. The church was built in 1829 by the late Board of First Fruits. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to that of Kilmaoge. Here are two day schools. Newington and Christian's Town are among the residences. Lead ore is found here."
