The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilberry contained the following places:

"KILBERRY, a parish in the barony of Narragh and Reban West, county Kildare, province of Leinster, Ireland, 4 miles N.W. of Athy. It is 6 miles long by 3½ broad. The surface lies along the bank of the river Barrow. There is a large extent of pasture. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Dublin, value £28, in the patronage of the Dean of St. Patrick's- The church was erected in 1836 by means of a sum raised by subscription, and a gift from the late Board of First Fruits. There are three day schools and one Sunday-school. Barrowford, Shrowlan, and Geraldine are the principal residences. There are ruins of a church and of two castles."
