The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Sherlockstown contained the following places:

"SHERLOCKSTOWN, a parish in the barony of North Naas, county Kildare, province of Leinster, Ireland, 3 miles S.E. of Clane. Kildare is its post town. It lies on the Grand canal and the road from Clane to Celbridge. The living is a curacy in the diocese of Kildare, value with Bodenstown, £63, in the patronage of the bishop. Sherlockstown House is the chief seat."
