In 1868, the parish of Ballinamara contained the following places:"BALLINAMARA, a parish in the barony of Crannagh, in the county of Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland, 6 miles to the N. W. of Kilkenny. The living is a vicarage, of the value of £82, in the diocese of Ossory, Ferns, and Leighlin, in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter of St. Canice, Kilkenny.
