The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Coolaghmore contained the following places:

"COOLAGHMORE, a parish in the barony of Hells, in the county of Kilkenny, province of Munster Ireland, 3 miles to the S. of Callan, its post town. The surface generally consists of good land, and contains Kyledohie-wood. The parish includes the hamlets of Knockbatton, Coolaghflags and Serehan. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ossory, value with Callan, £1,845, in the patronage of the Marquis of Ormond. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to those of Earlstown and Callan. Coolaghmore House is situated nearly in the centre of the parish."
