The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilcronaghan contained the following places:

"KILCRONAGHAN, a parish in the barony of Loughinsholin, county Londonderry, province of Ulster, Ireland, containing its post town, Tobermore. It is 5 miles long and 3 broad. The surface is mountainous and boggy. The parish is bounded on the E. and N. by the rivulet Moyola, and is traversed by the road from Moneymore to Dungiven. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Derry, value £412, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is an old building. Here are Presbyterian and other Dissenting meetinghouses, also six Sunday, and several day schools. Fort William is the seat of the Rev. J. S. Knox."

"TOBERMORE, a post-office village in the parish of Kilcronaghan, barony of Loughinsholin, in county Londonderry, Ireland, 3 miles S.W. of Londonderry, and 118 from Dublin, on the river Moyola. Fairs are held on the 17th January, 13th February, 28th March, 31st May, 5th July, and 20th October."
