In 1868, the parish of Kilcolmanbane contained the following places:

"KILCOLMANBANE, a parish in the baronies of Cullenagh and East Maryborough, Queen's County, province of Leinster, Ireland, 2 miles S.E. of Maryborough, its post town. It is 3 miles long and 2 broad. The surface is boggy, and is traversed by the Maryborough and Ballinakill road. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Leighlin, value with Maryborough, £485, in the patronage of the bishop. There are two day schools. Ballyknocken, Rathleague, Sheffield, and Woodville are the principal residences.
