The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Monksgrange contained the following places:

"MONKSGRANGE, a parish in the barony of Ballyadams, Queen's County, Ireland, 4 miles N. of Carlow. The parish is of small extent, but fertile, extending along the banks of the river Barrow. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Ossory, Ferns, and Leighlin, value £20."
