The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Tullomoy contained the following places:

"TULLOMOY, a parish in the baronies of Ballyadams and Stradbally, Queen's County, province of Leinster, Ireland, 4 miles S.S.E. of Stradbally. Maryborough is its post town. The river Straid traverses the interior, and the Slievemargy mountains rise to a height of 1,079 feet. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Leighlin, value £334, in the patronage of the bishop. The principal residence is Tullomoy House. There are some ancient remains known as Piper's Pit, the Asses' Manger stone, and a Druidical altar.
