The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Inch St Lawrence contained the following places:

"INCH ST. LAWRENCE, (or Isertlaurence), a parish in the barony of Clanwilliam, county Limerick, province of Munster, Ireland, 6 miles S.E. of Limerick. Ballybrood is its post town. It is 1½F mile long by half a mile broad. The surface consists of arable and pasture land. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Emly, value with Ballybrood, £429, in the patronage of the bishop. Here is a Roman Catholic chapel united to that of Cahirconlish; adjoining it is the National school. Remains of a fortress are observed at Scaghard, and of a castle at Grenane.
