The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Ardsallagh contained the following places:

"ARDSALLAGH, a parish in the barony of Lower Navan, in the county of Meath, province of Leinster, Ireland, 2 miles to the S. of Navan. It is situated on the western bank of the river Boyne. There are no traces left of a monastery, said to have been founded here by St. Finian. The living is a rectory joined with that of Navan, in the diocese of Meath. Ardsallagh House, the old seat of the Ludlows, is now the seat of the Duke of Bedford."
