The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Burry contained the following places:

"BURRY, a parish in the barony of Upper Kells, in the county of Meath, province of Leinster, Ireland, 2 miles to the S.W. of Kells. It is situated in a fertile district, and contains the village of Springville. Limestone and greenstone are quarried here. The living is a rectory, united to that of Kells, in the diocese of Meath. The principal seat is Balrath, situated in a large and wooded park, well stocked with deer."

"IRISHTOWN, a village in the parish of Burry, barony of Upper Kells, county Meath, province of Leinster, Ireland, near Kells."

"SCURLOCKSTOWN, a hamlet in the parish of Burry, barony of Upper Kells, county Meath, province of Leinster, Ireland, 2 miles S.W. of Kells, on the road to Clonmellon."
