The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Churchtown contained the following places:

"CHURCHTOWN, a parish in the barony of Lower Navan, in the county of Meath, province of Leinster, Ireland, 3 miles to the S.W. of Navan, its post town. The living is a via with Ardbraecan, in the diocese of Meath, and in the patronage of the crown. Here is a Roman Catholic chapel. The principal residences are Churchtown House and Philpotstown. Churchtown Castle is a small square tower, built by Mr. Warren."
