In 1868, the parish of Follistown contained the following places:"FOLLISTOWN, a parish in the barony of Skreen, county Meath, province of Leinster, Ireland, 3 miles S.E. of Navan, near the Duleek road. This parish is an entirely impropriate rectory in the diocese of Meath. The Incumbent of Skreen occasionally performs the duties."
