The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Inishmot contained the following places:

"INISHMOT, a parish in the barony of Lower Slane, county Meath, province of Leinster, Ireland, 3 miles S. W. of Ardee. Drogheda is its post town. It is 1½ mile long by 1 broad. The surface is varied. It consists of a fair proportion of good land on a limestone bottom, with a good deal of marsh. The living is a suspended rectory in the diocese of Meath, in the patronage of the bishop. The parish forms part of the Roman Catholic district of Syddan.
