The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilbrew contained the following places:

"KILBREW, a parish in the barony of Ratoath, county Meath, province of Leinster, Ireland, 3 miles N.E. of Dunshaughlin, its post town. The parish is 2 miles long, and 1 mile broad. The surface consists of a first-rate soil, and is traversed by the road from Dunshaughlin to Garristown. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Meath, value with Tryvett, £315, in the patronage of the crown. The church was erected about a century ago. It has been subsequently enlarged, with the addition of a tower. This parish forms part of the Roman Catholic district of Creekstown. Kilbrew House is the adjacent residence."
