The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Killaconnigan contained the following places:

"KILLACONNIGAN, a parish in the barony of Lune, county Meath, province of Leinster, Ireland, 7 miles W. of Trim, containing Ballivor, its post town. The parish is 5 miles long by 3½ broad. The surface is boggy, and the cultivated land principally arable. It is traversed by the road from Trim to Mullingar. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Meath, value £123. The church was erected in 1821 by means of a loan from the late Board of First Fruits. The Earl of Darnley provided a handsome gateway and communion service. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to that of Kildalkey. There are four day schools, one of which was founded by the Earl of Darnley. Elmgrove, Parkstown, and Kilmur are the principal seats. Limestone is abundant.
