The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Knock contained the following places:

"KNOCK, a parish in the barony of Morgallion, county Meath, province of Leinster, Ireland, 3 miles S.S.E. of Nobber, its post town. It is 1½ mile in length, and the same in breadth. It is crossed by the road from Stackallan to Nobber. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Meath, united with Drakestown, in the patronage of the crown and bishop. Donagh Has, Kirvail is the reputed founder of a priory here in 1148."
