The soil is good, and the road from Duleek to Ratoath passes through the N.W. part of the parish. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Meath, value with Kilmoor, £308, in the patronage of the primate and the crown alternately. The church is in ruins. The chief seat is Snugborough. An abbey is said to have been founded here in the middle of the 8th century.
