The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilbride contained the following places:

"KILBRIDE, a parish in the baronies of South Ballintober and Roscommon, county Roscommon, province of Connaught, Ireland, 3 miles N. of Roscommon, its post town. The parish is about 5 miles in length and the same in breadth. The surface consists of a fair soil, with a considerable proportion of bog. It is traversed by the road from Roscommon to Tulsk. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Elphin, value with Roscommon, £203, in the patronage of the bishop. The Roman Catholic chapel belongs to the Kilgeffin district. There are a public and several private schools. The chief residences are, Durham, Drumduff, and Hollywell. There are three police stations within the parochial limits. Limestone is abundant."
