The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilcolagh contained the following places:

"KILCOLAGH, a parish in the barony of Frenchpark, county Roscommon, province of Connaught, Ireland, 2 miles E. of Frenchpark. Elphin is its post town. The parish is 5 miles long by 2 broad, and includes Lough Bally. The surface has much bog and a proportion of good land. Here are two hedge-schools.
