The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilcooley contained the following places:

"KILCOOLEY, a parish in the barony of Roscommon, county Roscommon, province of Connaught, Ireland, 2 miles E. of Tulsk, on the road from thence to Strokestown, its post town. The soil is good. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Elfin, value with Ardclare, £126, in the patronage of the bishop. There are four or five day schools.
