The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Aglishcloghane contained the following places:

"AGLISHCLOGHANE, a parish in the barony of Lower Ormond, in the county of Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 4 miles to the N.E. of Borrisokane. It lies at the upper end of Lough Derg. It contains much bog and waste land, with limestone of good quality, for building purposes. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Killaloe, Kilfenora, Clonfert, and Kilmacduagh, and is held by the Archdeacon of Killaloe, with whom is also the patronage of the perpetual curacy"
