The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Ballygriffin contained the following places:

"BALLYGRIFFIN, a parish in the barony of Clanwilliam, in the county of Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 2 miles from Golden. It lies in a fertile district on the bank of the river Suir. There is a small tract of bog. The living is a rectory united with that of Athassel, in the diocese of Cashel, Emly, Waterford, and Lismore. Lisheen is the seat of Sir J. J. Fitzgerald, Bart."
