The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Crohane contained the following places:

"CROHANE, a parish in the barony of Slieveardagh, in the county of Tipperary, province of Munsteri Ireland, 2 miles E. of Killenaule, its post town. It is situated on the borders of the county of Limerick. The surface consists of a medium soil, with coal in some parts. A tributary to the river Lingay passes through the interior. The living is a rectory in the dioc of Cashel, united to Lismullin, joint value £785, in the patronage of the bishop. Here are Roman Catholic and parish schools."
