The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilcash contained the following places:

"KILCASH, a parish in the barony of Iffa and Offa East, county Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 8 miles N.E. of Clonmel. Waterford is its post town. It is 2 miles long, and nearly the same in breadth. The surface, which lies beneath the Slievenaman mountains, is hilly, consisting of poor land. It is traversed by the road from Clonmel to Dublin. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Lismore, value £49, in the patronage of the crown. The church is a modern erection. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to that of Kilsheelin. There are two National and six or seven other day schools. This parish is the site of an ancient seat of the Ormonde family; also of an ancient church. A fair is held on the 5th August."
