The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Magorban contained the following places:

"MAGORBAN, (or Mogorbin), a parish in the barony of Middlethird, county Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 4 miles E. of Cashel. Fethard is its post town. It is 3½ miles in length, and its extreme breadth is 3½ miles. The surface consists of a fertile tract, lying within the Golden Vale. It is traversed by the road from Cashel to Fethard. The living is a rectory in the dioc, of Cashel, value £192, in the patronage of thee crown. The church was erected in 1814 by means of a gift and loan from the late Board of First Fruits. There are three day schools. Woodhouse, Coleraine House, and Silverfort House, are the principal residences.
