The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilmacleague contained the following places:

"KILMACLEAGUE, a parish in the barony of Gualtiere, county Waterford, province of Munster, Ireland, 5 miles S.S.E. of Waterford, its post town. It is 22 1 miles in length by 13 mile in breadth. It extends along the E. side of Tramore Bay, terminating in the headland of Brownstown Head. The soil is indifferent. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Waterford, value with Ballinakill, £183, in the patronage of the bishop. The ancient seat of the Fortescues was at Somerville."
