The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Lisnakill contained the following places:

"LISNAKILL, a parish in the barony of Middlethird, county Waterford, province of Munster, Ireland, 5 miles S.W. of Waterford, its post town. It is 2½ miles long, and its average breadth is 1 mile. The surface consists of a medium soil, partly watered by the river Suir. The road from Waterford to Kill traverses the parish. The living is a suspended rectory in the diocese of Waterford, in the patronage of the bishop. Here are the ruins of a church, likewise the remains of a castle."

"PEMBROKESTOWN, a hamlet in the parish of Lisnakill, in the barony of Middlethird, county Waterford, province of Munster Ireland 5 miles S.W. of Waterford. The principal residence is Pembrokestown House, and near it are the ruins of Loughdeheen castle, also a cromlech."

"SWEEP, a hamlet in the barony of Middlethird, county Waterford, Ireland, 5 miles S.W. of Waterford."
