The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Doonooney contained the following places:

"DOONOONEY, a parish in the barony of Bantry, in the county of Wexford, province of Leinster, Ireland, 5 miles N.W. of Taghmon, its post town. It is situated on the road from Enniscarthy to Duncannon Fort. The living is a curacy in the diocese of Ferns, value with one other, £362, in the patronage of the bishop. Here are some Druidical remains.
