The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilpatrick contained the following places:

"KILPATRICK, a parish in the barony of East Shelmaliere, county Wexford, province of Leinster, Ireland, 4 miles N.N.W. of Wexford. Kyle is its post town. The parish is 3 miles long by 1 mile broad. The surface lies along the margin of the river Slaney, near Wexford Harbour. The interior is traversed by the road from Wexford to Dublin. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Ferns, value with another, £219, in the patronage of the bishop. The church was erected more than a century ago. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to that of Ballymura. There is a National school."

"KYLE, a hamlet and the seat of a post-office in the parish of Kilpatrick, barony of East Shelmaliere, county Wexford, province of Leinster, Ireland, 5 miles N.N.W. of Wexford. It is situated on the road from Wexford to Dublin. In the vicinity is Kyle House, with its model cottage gardens; and nearer to the banks of the Slaney river are ruins of Deeps Castle."
