The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Tomhaggard contained the following places:

"TOMHAGGARD, a parish in the barony of Bargy, county Wexford, province of Leinster, Ireland, 3 miles S.E. of Bridgetown. The surface consists of good soil, and is well cultivated. The parish is crossed by the road from Wexford to Kilmore, and includes Tacumshin Bay. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ferns, value with two others £350, in the patronage of the bishop. The church having long been in ruins, the Protestants attend divine worship at Kilturk. There are a Roman Catholic chapel and three public schools. The chief residence is Bargy Castle. St. Hune's well is within the parish. A feast is kept on the 26th July, being patron day."

"BARGY, a hamlet in the barony of Bargy, in the county of Wexford, province of Leinster, Ireland, 7 miles to the S. of Wexford."
